JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa

Resort travel – that’s a travel niche, right? –  is the perfect way to unwind, spend quality family time, take life slow without the grind of visiting the “next spot”, and of course more often than not, get pampered in the lap of luxury.

Now, many would argue that why should anyone travel to a far-off place when all they want to do is spend time inside a resort?

Partially true, but depending on where you are in the world, sometimes being far away from the banality of daily routine and staying in a foreign country makes for a unique experience. Moreover, local culture and traditions in addition to the foods and a change in location, and air, all compliment each other for a hopefully refreshing holiday that can often be found encompassed within a resort.

Calm Nature

With this in mind, the JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa is the perfect place to unwind. It’s a complete holiday package in itself and deals often include all meals at one of their in-house restaurants so that literally everything is taken care of for you.

Marriott is a name synonymous with luxury and the Phuket Resort and Spa is a property that shouts grandness. Located idyllically next to Mai Khao beach this water front property comprises of a few different swimming pools, including one for adults only. There’s a lot you can do at the resort, or nothing at all, so whether it is relaxing by the pool, getting a massage on the beach, or experiencing some fun water activities, it’s all about living the island life to the max and enjoying it just the way you want it to.

Then there is the charm of utilizing the Mandara Spa to its full potential in order to relish a different kind of relaxation, one for the mind and the body. A couple’s massage for some romance, or one to let go of that tension, they have a variety of options to suit all needs.

But that’s not all, there’s a different side to the resort that promotes conservation of nature through the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, and in fact the logo of the resort is a turtle than can be found throughout the property in the form of prints on towels or art and sculptures in different places.

One of the benefits of having such a lavish property is wide open spaces, and plenty of it has been designated to keep the areas bright and green. The gardens are a perfect spot to do morning yoga and if it rains- it usually does – then pick up a glass of wine or maybe hot coco and sit in your balcony and take in the beauty of the surroundings while you appreciate the sound of nature.

In fact, so wholesome is living at JW Marriott Resort that if you crave some retail therapy or a chance to eat “outside”, the hotel transport will take you to the nearby, aptly named, Turtle Village which is a petite shopping area hosting a few odd shops.

The rooms at JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa are comfortable, lavishly decorated, and welcoming. The service always with a smile. There’s a lot of importance given to local products when it comes to decorating the hotel as well as the architectural designs and look of the entire property.

One of the highlights of the resort is the expansive lobby area which consists of an infinity reflection pool – not for swimming – where come evening traditional water and fire dances are performed for the guests.

The one issue some might have with the resort is its location and that it is slightly away from the center. However, for those who want to get out and about, whole day trips can easily be arranged from the resort.

A holiday at the Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa is about relishing and making the most of what the hotel has to offer. Lavish breakfast spreads, pools with slides, activities for the little ones, cooking classes, fitness center, 13 onsite restaurants, splash pools, there’s something for everyone and every need, but most importantly it gives you time; time for introspection, time to chill, and most importantly, time for family.

I totally agree, this is an incredible place to stay. I love the JW brand anyway, I also stayed in the one in Khao Lak just an hour drive from Phuket. I could use a day in that Madara Spa right now! 🙂

We absolutely love the JW Marriott brand. Resort travelling like you said is for sure a complete different way of travelling! Of course you want to do the local and stuff, but the luxury and unwinding in a resort is also very welcomed after a hectic day of culture and local visits haha!

I agree with you that its worth to stay in that kind of place even when you travel far away! I know there are stuff to explore at the island but ive always found time during the day to enjoy the pool or nice cocktail with a view ! I love the vibe at this Marriott, kind of make you feel like in jungle 🙂 and those turtles are super cute! 🙂

I prefer properties which have open spaces, manicured gardens and other nature elements incorporated in the design. I have stayed in few Marriott properties and loved it. I would love to see the traditional dance in water in person.

I am all for resort stays! Although I usually prefer to be out and about exploring a city, sometimes, right in the middle of my trip, I want to stay at a nice resort where I can just relax for the day, take a dip in the pool, have a drink, read a book and do nothing else! The swimming pool in JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa looks just like the kind of place I’d love to spend the day in and the fire dance in the water looks pretty interesting too!

Ooh, this is definitely my kind of resort. I am a huge fan of the Marriott brand and the resort looks stunning. So does the surrounding scenery. The water and fire dances look fascinating too. I will certainly consider the JW Marriott Phuket when I visit Phuket again.

Marriott always have a nice stays though business or resort type of stays. JW Marriott Phuket resort and Spa has nice combination of nature, culture/traditions with luxury and amenities. 13 onsite restaurants ? Are you joing? Seems like this resort is spread in large area and I love wide spread hotel properties. Beauty of Turtle village and traditional water dance has won me and I would surely book for this resort when I visit Phuket.

I had another friend who just stayed here and returned and was in complete praise of it. Now I see why. The place is quite spacious and gorgeous. The dances in the water is a nice entertainment that they offer. On the whole, it definitely seems luxurious and nice.
